Part of the reason I had each of the Block Designers for the ‘My Favorite Block Quilt Along’ created directions for both 12.5” and 6.5” blocks is because I wanted to show you fun ways you can make your 6.5” blocks into 12.5” blocks. So – here I am with the first bonus option to increase a 6.5” block to a 12.5” block. I’m going to show you this first option with one of my 6.5” Wonky Star Blocks I made during Week 8 by Fiber of All Sorts. ***Please note – you could use ANY 6.5″ blocks to start this fun...
It’s Thursday! I have yet to sew a single stitch on my Project QUILTING quilt but I did paint the fabric, sketched my applique design and started to fuse some fabrics…it’s a start. Let’s hope I can get it finished in the next few days!
But the real reason I’m posting today is to show you a quilt I recently FINISHED – my 1930s Block of the Month Sampler!
I believe I started making these 1930’s reproduction print Block of the Month from Fabric N Quilts. I loved doing them but it was one of those times where I just had way too...
WOW! It’s Thursday ALREADY! This week has sure gon e by fast! Today we get to see what Pamela Boatright of Pamela Quilts picked for her ‘Favorite Block’ for the 4th in the ‘My Favorite Block’ Quilt Along Journey.
- What is your favorite thing about Quilt Alongs?
I love seeing how the same block can look so different just depending on the fabrics! A lot of time I get stuck in one way of seeing a block, and different fabric really changes how the block looks.
When you look at your quilts – what color do you seem to...
I may not finish piecing the tops of all the BOMs I participated in during 2012 but I am proud to say I DID finish all the blocks! The last one I have to share with you this year is the BOM I did via FabricFascination. This was my most laid back BOM as I received each block already cut with the fabrics chosen for me. It was a very therapeutical BOM and I am really happy with the 12 blocks I have now!

Here are the 12 blocks from Fabric Fascination BOM. You still have time to make this quilt! Just...

I recently posted about the completion of my Craftsy BOM blocks (nope – I still haven’t decided on what to do about sashing). Well – I’ve finally taken a few hours to complete the blocks of two other quilt alongs and a personal project of mine for my 8 inch scrappy sampler.
First I’m going to break the blocks down into quilt alongs and then I’ll end by showing you what happens when you mix all 80 blocks together into one quilt!
Crumb Along – I only sort of followed this one and I made 8 ‘Crumb Blocks.’ I really enjoyed...
Today I’m going to show you my progress on the Craftsy Block of the Month. I have 10 of the 10 months done which means YES – they are all done! I’ve really enjoyed this Block of the Month series. Each month a new technique has been introduced. I’ve tried things I’ve never tried before. Realized I enjoyed doing things I never thought I would (hexagons) and was really glad I only had to make two blocks with a certain method (curved piecing). Regardless of it all – in the end I’m going to have a gorgeous, unique sampler...
I was putting all my BOM’s into one post but since I haven’t gotten very far on any of them I think I’ll break them up into separate posts as they all come to their end.
Today I’m going to show you my progress on the Craftsy Block of the Month. I have 9 of the 10 months done…just October left and hopefully I’ll finish that up tomorrow (apple store is closed). I’ve really enjoyed this Block of the Month series. Each month a new technique has been introduced. I’ve tried things I’ve never tried before. Realized I...
I’m guessing this will be the last ‘dramatic’ Block of the Month and Quilt Along updates for awhile. Apple season is going to be kicking it into full gear here and my sewing time will be cut quite a bit. Regardless – I’m really excited to show off my progress I’ve made in the last couple of weeks. I analyze a lot in the following post so I am going to apologize ahead for my long-windedness

In previous posts I showed you:

Hi everyone! I can’t believe how fast this summer has gone! We’ve gotten both of our older daughter’s teacher assignments and I went ‘Back to School’ clothes shopping for them on Monday. I can’t believe that TWO of them will be in school this year! Even though things are a bit crazy around here I’ve still been plugging away at my Block of the Months and Quilt Alongs. Here’s what I’ve accomplished since the last update:
Now let’s take a look at the newest Quilt Along that I’ve started participating in...
